Overview

This role is 100% REMOTE - Must be in the US

Foot Locker, Inc. is seeking a Sr Technical Program Manager for our Store Systems team who will be responsible for managing software product lifecycle from inception to production launch. You will drive various software engineering teams to deliver store-based applications supporting major transformation initiatives with Foot Locker Inc. customers. You will balance delivering artifacts, engaging with strategic decisions, managing stakeholders, communications, dependencies, identifying and mitigating risks across the program. You'll operate as a trusted advisor to diverse teams - Product Management, Business Analysis, PMO, Solution Architecture, Store Engineering etc. with ultimate responsibility to orchestrate activities including gathering product requirements from key stakeholders, eliciting estimates, creating a project plans and roadmaps, and executing the plan in close collaboration with the development and quality engineering teams.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure a collective understanding of the outcome of projects and how this meets our internal/external customer's needs and delivers a delightful, frictionless customer experience
  • Lead activities (e.g. high level architecture, high level requirements, estimation) in preparation for requesting capital
  • Coordinate and manage technical project and program development of large-scale globally defining the roadmap and engineering execution
  • Manage software projects from requirements to change and release management
  • Present milestones and high-level program plan
  • Create schedules, define risk mitigation strategies, and facilitate appropriate software engineering solutions
  • Manage cross-functional teams and/or third party-vendors for implementation of project/program requirements
  • Anticipate problems and complications and formulate solutions so as not to impede the progress of the project
  • Identify and manage risks (e.g. timeline, changing requirements, new requirements); take action to communicate early and mitigate risks
  • Interact effectively with all levels of management in identifying and resolving complex issues
Qualifications

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environment, able to help with the introduction and adoption of Agile values, principles, methods, and practices
  • Track record of software product development, design, and architecture
  • Technically savvy and able to ramp up on new technologies quickly
  • Proven track record of successfully launching store technology products and services with geographically distributed teams
  • Technical proficiency in key relevant areas (applications, APIs, and databases). Broad familiarity with store systems including POS and emerging technology areas
  • Strong experience in scheduling, risk management, cost estimation, meetings management, and negotiations
  • Comfortable operating in an ambiguous, high-risk environment
  • Experience in agile and iterative project methodologies
  • Experience in Jira or similar applications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MS/BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years' experience in managing large and complex technology transformation programs
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills. Proven success at interacting with CTO/CIO level of large enterprises.
  • Agile project management certifications a plus
