Job description

LS&Co is currently investing heavily in our Enterprise and Distribution systems to deliver resilient, agile IT to meet our current and future business needs. This level of investment needs significant input and guidance to ensure we are building a flexible and extensible technology stack that meets current and future business needs. We are recruiting for the Global Distribution IT, Technical Project Manager to help deliver these programs of work.
In this role, you will be a key member of the Global Distribution IT team, be an effective ambassador liaising with other parts of the business and will manage the development and implementation of new distribution technologies within LS&Co's enterprise logistics systems including WMS and TMS application suite (Manhattan, JDA, bespoke WMS and TMS, labor management, MHE systems). All systems include components at various layers: server-side, integration, supply chain planning engines, work-flow management, user-interfaces, etc.
This Technical Project Manager will be responsible for leading development and implementation teams and working directly with customers for project implementation.
In doing so you will work within your department and with cross-functional business and IT partners to develop or provide input to:
- Distribution Strategy within IT that aligns to the business strategy / objectives
- Investment, conceptualization, and initiative prioritization in conjunction with the business
- Transformation delivery and technical realization of Global Distribution solutions
- Enterprise, solution, infrastructure, security and data architectures for the Supply Chain end-to-end processAbout the Job:
- Conducting discovery sessions with Customers
- Analyzing Customer requirements and documenting Software Requirements Specification
- Producing design documents and participating in design reviews
- Creating project plans
- Writing code, unit tests, and build/deployment scripts-minimally
- Guiding and mentoring a team of developers
- Participating in design, code and software configuration reviews
- Reviewing Test Strategies
- Executing performance/scalability tests & profiling hotspots
- Collaborating with QA, TechOps and Production Support during the various phases of the project
- Responsible for managing all aspects of assigned projects (at times with assistance) - full life-cycle (planning and requirements through construction, testing and implementation - per LS&Co. IT standards for project management and project governance check-point processes
- Hold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects
- Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiatives
- Research and evaluate hardware and software technology options and weigh the cost/benefit analysis when making large purchases on behalf of the company
- Obtains and sometimes determines staffing requirements to form the project team with internal and external vendor resources
- Leverages others and own past experiences to identify potential areas of improvement
- Works to integrate areas of improvement into the systems development life cycle and project management processes
- May serve as instructor for project management methods / tools training classes to personnel within or outside the project
- Coaches or mentors less experienced personnel within the project


- Master's Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or technology related field
- 7+ years of IT experience in Complex IT Systems within Distribution Systems including responsibility and ownership for IT delivery and project teams. Experience required in the successful management of on-going relationships with multiple service providers (technology and services - including non-US based off-shore service providers).
- Supply Chain Systems knowledge of logistics, order management, inventory management, material handling equipment, robotics and other innovation technology such as RFID, blockchain-powered supply chain automations.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in writing software in their background
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Strong Object-Oriented Programming Skills; good understanding of data structures and algorithms
- An understating of different integration methodologies including ETL, EDI, asynchronous messaging and service-based integration patterns
- Experience leading the development of service based, message based and batch integration architectures using tools such as SAP PO, BODS, MQ, IBM Sterling, MuleSoft, Informatica, FTP, AS2
- Experience managing internal and external development teams at onsite and offshore locations
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management, support
- Experience with legacy system modernization
- Prior experience in development or consulting with an enterprise software vendor is a plusEOE M/F/Disability/Vets
