Job description

General Summary

This role develops long range strategic plans and manages execution for ECommerce which drives unique and relevant customer experiences to create lasting emotional connections and sustained profitability. It manages the Ecommerce functions for the DSW Brand including Online Merchandising, Site Content, Personalization, Drop Ship and Category Management; it also oversees DBI enterprise UX/UI, Customer Analytics, Site Design and Operations.



Reports to: President, DSW

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Establishes and manages execution of the digital strategy and roadmap for national and owned brands

- Develops go-to-market strategies for owned brands through use of brand-specific sites, new digital marketplaces, social commerce or other third-party businesses

- Creates and manages a consumer-centric and data-driven DTC strategy and sustainability plan for a broadening portfolio of owned brands

- Makes data driven decisions while constantly testing and learning; ensures teams are consistently providing post-program ROI analysis paired with consumer insights to increase sales and drive a premium brand experience

- Establishes brand differentiation and sustains success through continuous analysis of market trends, competitive influences, and performance of digital channels

- Researches emerging DTC commerce revenue models to capture new customers and meet evolving customer expectations

- Delivers visionary customer experience strategies to deliver on business objectives for the brands

- Builds world-class digital experiences that feel seamless across channels; utilizes customer research to identify opportunities and inform future enhancements

- Communicates strategy and inspires commitment across the organization (corporate and field teams) to continuously create alignment on brand strategy and deliver on our customer promise

- Builds cross-functional relationships with Marketing, Merchandising, Inventory Planning, HR, and FP&A teams to ensure alignment across DTC initiatives

Required Skills:

- Demonstrated ability to innovate, build, launch, and lifecycle-manage successful products

- Deep knowledge of online commerce solutions; proven track record for building competencies and driving DTC brand/product business with a customer-centric perspective and marketing/product development orientation

- Superb communication and influencing; aptitude to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority; proven ability to lead and motivate across multiple disciplines in order to accomplish a common goal

- Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking - able to develop strategy, prioritize, and make data driven decisions

- Attention to detail executing complex projects with cross-functional dependencies; ability to prioritize and focus while effectively managing multiple and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment

- Strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, including high-level business discussions

- Courageous leadership style - willing and able to take calculated risks to push to future state

- Financial and merchandise planning/inventory management acumen

- Experience working in Agile environments with common tool-sets (JIRA, etc.)



Experience:

- 15+ years of experience in managing high-performing teams.

- 5+ years of experience in eCommerce leadership role and knowledge of eCommerce best practices.

- Ten or more years of eCommerce business management experience with five or more years experience in Product Development (launching and lifecycling multiple cross-channel brands) and/or Merchandising, Planning and Allocation

- Experience working in a high volume, fast paced, multi-channel retail environment essential

- Experience defining/developing financial models for eCommerce revenue models

- Experience cultivating and contracting relationships with product partners



Preferred Qualifications:

- Additional education in marketing, information technology, statistical decision-modeling or analytics disciplines are desirable

- Agile Methodology certification also a plus

- Prior commercial experience including defining/developing pricing models for subscription services, knowledge and passion for subscription flows and management solutions, and cultivating and contracting relationships with product partners

- Independent P&L responsibility strongly preferred



Education:

- Bachelor's Degree in Product Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology, Advertising, Psychology, Engineering or related field. An equivalent of this requirement in working experience is also acceptable. Advanced degree a plus.
