Job description

Position Overview: The Sales Strategy, Analytics and Operations Director manages support functions essential to sales force productivity. These support functions include sales strategy effectiveness (macro, regional, key account), forecast planning, reporting, sales process optimization, sales program implementation and B2B functions/training essential to sales force productivity. Areas include the Smartwool (SWL) NA Wholesale Operations Team encompassing strategic support functions essential to NA Sales Strategy, Revenue Generation, Sales Analytics, sell-in and sell-through productivity.

At its core, sales operations is about supporting and enabling frontline sales teams to sell more efficiently and effectively by providing strategic direction and reducing friction in the sales process . To do this, sales ops fulfills both strategic and tactical functions.

Job Titles of direct reports: Sales Forecast Manager

Major Responsibilities, but not limited to:

1. Team Management: Lead and develop Sales Planning Manager, Bulk planner and support staff, including scaling team for growth as needed (20%)

2. Long Range Planning: Lead development of US Wholesale strategic plan to support Executive Leadership level initiatives and support delivery of identified targets for revenue, team development and business processes (10%)

3. Provides weekly sales reporting with supporting comments, insights and intelligence. To include international reporting as necessary. (10%)

4. Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement. Works closely with sales management to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement. Assists sales management in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies. Facilitates an organization of continuous process improvement. (20%)

5. Key Accounts: Ensure Key Accounts strategies are defined and are appropriately supported through working closely with Operations, Customer Service, Sales Ops teams, and Reps to ensure internal support structure, communication, analysis and management are performed to maximize customer satisfaction (10%)

6. Drive At-Once Business Strategy: Working with sales leadership develop a critical at-once replenishment initiative to capitalize on at-once sales opportunities with all season's products. (5%)

7. Support the delivery of monthly and annual revenue forecast and results through analysis, including analyzing historical trends and identifying risks to business (5%)

8. Provide analysis and support product planning decisions for sku productivity, product trends and assortment planning. (5%)

9. Lead B2B efficiency through training and sales force has the tools to meet seasonal sales goals (5%)

10. Cross Functional Leader: Serve as part of SWL's Management Team, maximizing cross-departmental effectiveness through relationship building, communication, collaboration and implementation of business processes that achieve targets (5%)

11. Key liaison to Customer Service, Business to Business (B2B) and Operations Teams: Work closely with Customer Service and Operations teams to continuously evolve our processes and procedures to ensure we meet and exceed customer expectations (5%)

- 7+ years of progressive sales analysis and sales operations experience
- 7+ years working within a multi-door retail environment with vast experience with vendor relationships, POS analytics and strategic planning.

- Proven ability to create and implement sales process and marketing ROI metrics
- Significant exposure to forecasting, budget and financial management processes
- Demonstrated results in executing multiple projects and integrated plans on a seasonal basis
