Job description

Title: MANAGER, SOCIAL COMPLIANCE

Position Summary

The Manager of Social Compliance is a leadership position driving the development, implementation and management of BBW Social Compliance Programs including Conflict Minerals and Anti-Forced Labor Programs. This position requires knowledge of U.S. and international forced labor, modern slavery, labor standards and workplace condition laws. Position reports directly to the AVP, Quality Engineering.

Responsibilities

Provide project management leadership of social compliance initiatives and policy management with cross-functional sourcing, customs compliance and legal partners, internal stakeholders and vendors.
Responsible for project management of the social compliance process, updating and aligning with internal brand and corporate partners and ensuring education and training of our policies and procedures through effective collaboration, communication and partnership with cross functional partners and senior leadership.
Additional responsibilities include partnering with Product Integrity management for content and guidance to inform the global policies, practices and impacts and administer the requirements and standards to balance the compliance and business needs.
This role will manage, oversee and provide direction to 3rd party auditor.
This technical leader will effectively develop, lead and manage 3rd party audit activities for social compliance and update leaders to identify and report on supply-chain risks.
Additionally, this individual will be expected to represent BBW in trade organization engagement activities as defined by leadership in support of our social compliance activities and initiatives.
Ensure BBW compliance program is developed and continuously develop program for labor standards and workplace conditions program through research and benchmarking with other key retailers
Execute supply chain inquiries and required due diligence to certify compliance with BBW standards
Coordinate with key stakeholder functions to assure that the activities conform to Conflict Minerals and other social compliance program requirements and result in a disclosure that demonstrates compliance with the SEC regulation, UK Modern Slavery Act and other forced labor and modern slavery laws
Communicate major compliance violations and incidents that fall under the 24-Hour Notification Policy to Executive Leadership, BBW Sourcing & Production and BBW Leadership; draft warning letters, as appropriate
Escalate high risk suppliers and factories to BBW Leadership
Develop a labor law library for key regions and become the labor law expert for these key regions
Develop and continuously update all labor standards and workplace condition policies
Maintain functional area metrics and analysis for chemical compliance
Develop and Modify CAP tools, processes and procedures to continuously improve the remediation efficiency and effectiveness.
Stay updated on emerging risks and communicate those risks to BBW Leadership
Circulate social compliance trade updates, as appropriate, to Executive and BBW Leadership
Develop and conduct training to suppliers, factories and associates, as needed
Prepare support documentation for investor and non-government organization (NGO) requests, as needed
Monitor investor sites for social criteria (labor ratings for the supply chain) related to BBW and other key retailers we benchmark with regularly
Create Risk Assessment and support 3rd party database configuration, as needed
Develop database training for new users, support refresher training and provide training on new development and releases

Qualifications

Communicates in a highly effective and professional manner (verbal and written), interpreting complex information and thoughtfully expressing his/her viewpoint, analysis or conclusions
High attention to detail coupled with analytical and project management skills
Ability to execute tasks in a thorough, composed, accurate and timely fashion while managing multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Leadership skills to develop, manage, delegate and execute tasks efficiently and effectively.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with several cross-functional partners

Conducts all work in an ethical, honest, professional and confidential manner
Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Experience and Education

7+ years of relevant experience
B.S. or B.A. in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required
Background in Social Responsibility or Compliance Strongly Preferred
Previous experience with project management / Data Analysis
Strong PC skills: Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Foreign language skills a plus
MBA or advanced degree, or other certification a plus
