The TJX Global Business Services (GBS) function manages approximately $6 billion in annual spend with over 10,000 suppliers in support of 500+ initiatives to deliver the following services to our divisions:
- Non-Merchandise Sourcing and Procurement
- Continuous Improvement/Six Sigma Training
- Workplace Services and Property Management
We have an opportunity for an experienced Sr. Business/Data Analyst to join our GBS Center of Excellence (CoE)! The CoE provides management with information such as operational metrics, benchmarking, consulting, forecasting, spend and savings analytics, cost modeling, and data visualization for partners across TJX. This individual contributor role provides on-going analyses that identify and focus management's attention on value creation, expense control, and corporate responsibility initiatives specific to the GBS Teams' 3-5 year plans. They support analysis and reporting for GBS global processes, develop databases and tools to streamline reporting and processes, and provide senior management with ad hoc financial and operational analyses. In addition to having technical capabilities, the ideal candidate is also a curious, self-motivated problem solver.
- Independently perform complex financial and operational analyses supporting RFPs, Should Cost Modeling, Bid optimization, and other activities
- Assist Global Sourcing and Procurement category management with contract negotiations, business case development, business/commercial terms and performance metrics
- Use spend analytics tool to analyze and prepare reporting, including opportunity assessments and actionable insights for category management and business partners
- Support ad-hoc analysis, general and custom reporting needs for regional and global requirements. This will include special projects, specific category manager requests, market intelligence reporting, etc.
- Actively participate in a team environment to drive improvement in financial processes through tools/systems, automation, and standardization
- Create and publish dashboards and scorecards for GBS management and leadership
- Create, update and improve various Access databases, including migration to new analytic platforms
- Support the development and implementation of data visualization tools
- Degree or relevant work experience
- 3 years of professional experience in Reporting & Analytics, Business Planning and Analysis or related
- Attention to detail and sound analytical skills, ability to interpret/communicate financial information
- Strong financial business acumen
- Excellent professional written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels
- Ability to build and maintain relationships in a collaborative team environment
- Thrives working in a fast-paced and flexible environment with changing priorities and deadlines
- Strong technical skills which include:
- PowerPoint - ability to build executive level presentations
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills - including pivot capability, knowledge of logic and look-up/reference functions, and chart skills
- Access - ability to write queries and trouble shoot as well as Power BI, Python, Snowflake
- Transform data into practical summaries beyond reporting raw information but driving usable trend and cost information from various data sources
- Demonstrable ability to creatively tell a story from the data
