The Sr. Director Human Resources (HR) Communications is responsible for the development and implementation of a global internal communications strategy and action plans to support and drive a wide range of HR strategies, initiatives and cyclical processes, including culture, talent, business transformation and change, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I), benefits/wellness, rewards and recognition. This role reports into the Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer and will be a member of the Global HR Leadership team (GHRLT).
Leading the HR Communications team, comprised of the Director DE&I Communications & Employer Brand, Sr. Manager Digital Content & Strategy, HR Communications Content Manager: Benefits, Awards & Recognition, and a Sr. HR Communications Specialist, this position will transform HR/workforce communications to deliver on the people strategy, return to office/future of work, employee experience and other key strategic imperatives of the company. Through inspiring, educational communications and messaging, the HR Communications team's mission is to mobilize our team members to connect with our values, drive business performance and to activate and empower our culture and employee experience from our retail/distribution centers and plants to our corporate headquarters worldwide.
What you'll do
- Define and evolve an effective and integrated HR communications strategy, including content, timing, messaging and collateral to increase employee activation, education, engagement.
- Develop, own and drive HR communications plans and messaging for core/cyclical talent process, change/transformation initiatives, benefits, rewards & recognition (Annual Performance Review, goal setting, Excellence Awards, open enrollment, etc.).
- Develop CHRO's voice, thought leadership & recognition strategy, in partnership with VP Corp Affairs, to help showcase and promote a dynamic and innovative executive focused on equity, future of work and wellness.
- Drive external recognition for HR Communications, DE&I and LS&Co. culture in partnership with Corp Affairs.
- Integrate DE&I commitment, competencies and concepts into HR communications and talent practice messaging
- Support and partner with Director DE&I Communications & Employer Brand to develop the voice of the CDO and implement the new global DE&I Communications strategy, evolved EVP and employer brand to showcase culture to attract and retain top talent worldwide and increase reputational credibility as employer of choice.
- Manage and strategically drive reports, reporting and narrative development including the creation and marketing of LS&CO.'s first-ever Diversity Impact Report (Q1 2022) and HR & DE&I survey/focus group results
- Develop an HR communications analytics strategy and scorecard to diagnose and understand audience engagement, segmentation and increase effectiveness of our messages and platforms to inspire, engage team members on all levels.
- Drive the transformation of an evolving HR communications team and broader function whose mission it is to provide strategic thought leadership, enable inclusion and help deliver high performance
- Establish collaborative and effective ways of working within the HR Communications team and between this team and Corporate and Public Affairs, global comms teams (including retail), HR COEs and Corp and global functions
- Manage team operations and workstreams, while coaching, developing, growing and ensuring achievement of all responsibilities of a high-performing HR communications team. - Demonstrate inclusive leadership capabilities and create a culture of belonging on the HR communications team and within the broader DE&I function
- Serve as a strategic advisor and thought partner on select leadership teams in collaboration with other LS&Co. communication leaders and as a member of the DE&I leadership team (DEILT) and Global HR Leadership Team (GHRLT)
- Stay current on HR, DE&I and communications trends to deliver practical, innovative and insightful recommendations and Best Practices; coordinate across the broader LS&Co. communications community to support strong and consistent delivery of global, enterprise initiativesWho you are
- Have a global mindset, deep understanding and appreciation for culture and expertise in diversity, equity and inclusion strategies
- Exceptional storyteller with superb persuasive writing skills and the ability to create compelling narratives in support of our business strategies.
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business administration, human resources, psychology, journalism, marketing and communications, or related field
- Minimum 10-15 years of work experience with minimum 5 years of experience in HR Management, Corporate Communications and/or Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
- 5+ year people management skills required
- Considerable experience in executive communications, change management and stakeholder management
- Experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from the envisioning/assessment stage to implementation
- Experience of working with senior management during times of human resources structure change and transformation
- Proven experience defining KPIs, managing reporting and showcasing data-driven results around communication effectiveness.
- Skilled relationship builder, comfortable engaging and influencing key stakeholders on all levels
