Job description

The Sr. Director of Retail and Wholesale Marketing will lead adidas North America's marketing activation efforts across all brick-and mortar channels - including owned retail (Flagship, Brand Doors, Originals Doors, and Factory Outlets), key wholesale partners, and key specialty retail partners. The primary function of this role is to deliver on-brand retail programs connected to key brand and commercial moments that provide the consumer with industry-leading experiences. This role is also responsible for driving traffic to these channels, working closely with the NAM media team and other marketing teams to efficiently manage a significant activation budget. Collaboration is key for this role, as the leader will interface with all internal channel leadership teams as well as key external account partners. Additionally, retail activation strategy and planning will be key components of this role - requiring connectivity to channel and brand planning teams to build a holistic seasonal plan for each key channel.

Profile

- Work with own retail commercial teams, including buying & planning, merchandising, and operations to develop seasonal marketing strategy and plan for the own retail channel.
- Connect with wholesale and specialty sales channels to develop seasonal marketing strategy and plan for key wholesale partners.
- Share plans and align with local and global brand planning teams - ensuring that retail plans are brand-first and aligned to over-arching brand priorities.
- Align resources around seasonal plans and execute, providing regular reporting cadence.
- Take strategies and plans and deliver industry-leading in-store activations, providing consumers with the premium experiences they expect from adidas.
- Utilize data and the broader adidas network, including key cities teams, to understand areas of biggest opportunity and focus strategy, plan, and execution at those locations that matter most.
- Track and report on retail performance, working closely with retail counterparts to gather, validate, and share regular reports.
- Work with NAM media, CRM, and activation teams to generate needed support for key retail doors and during key moments. A strong understanding of digital marketing and media is key. Regular reporting on marketing & media effectiveness is required.
- Key partner to Global Retail HUB team and NAM Retail Experience team on development of new own-retail store concepts, existing store updates, and new concepts for Shop-in-shops.
- Work closely with key account teams to understand the needs of the consumer and the needs of our key partners re: in-store activations.
- Bring innovative thinking and a consumer-centric mindset to the team, working to deliver a more seamless brand and shopping experience.
- Utilize digital to more effectively and efficiently drive traffic to own retail and key partner doors
- Utilize digital to improve consumer's experience at key retail activations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master degree required, with 8+ years hands-on retail marketing experience.
- Experience leading, managing and motivating others, both directly and indirectly. Proven experience recruiting, building and developing winning teams.
- Experience in planning and managing large budgets across channels while achieving high volume growth targets.
- Experience with complex data and analytics tools.
