Summary Statement: A Restaurant General Manager oversees all aspects of Restaurant operations and guides the team as a driver of professionalism, financial success / agility and overall excellence, ensuring a luxury Restaurant experience for all guests.

Responsibilities & Duties




Restaurant Strategy & Administration

  • Drives restaurant team to define and execute on clear strategies and priorities to deliver consistently excellent restaurant experiences
  • Partners with Store General Manager, Regional Director of Restaurants, and Corporate Food Service
  • Reviews any issues that may affect the restaurant with Store General Manager and Regional Director of Restaurants daily
  • Maintains an active role in overseeing all dining rooms and kitchens
  • Oversees Health and Safety standard maintenance within the workplace
  • Oversees maintenance of current and accurate paperwork from POS reports while monitoring restaurant success versus bottom line
  • Supports development of / oversees all restaurant promotions and special events
  • Drives restaurant team to meet designated deadlines following the NMG 4-5-4 calendar
  • Reviews inventory amounts, batch invoices, month-end forecasts, and preliminary profit and loss reports
  • Drives restaurant to achieve and maintain a 90% score or better on seasonal shop reports and sanitation evaluations
  • Oversees documentation to begin, finalize, and achieve seasonal profit plans
  • Builds relationships with client base to deepen client relationship with NMG
Associate Development

  • Enforces NMG policies and procedures
  • Partners with Human Resources on matters relevant to Associates (e.g., training, payroll, benefits)
  • Oversees all Associates in professional and courteous treatment of customers and coworkers
  • Drives restaurant management team to maintain adequate Associate training on all tasks
  • Oversees performance management of direct reports
Communications

  • Communicates daily with restaurant management team regarding business needs, such as scheduling, profit and loss reports, upcoming events, and other employee issues
  • Provides relevant updates in weekly department manager meetings
  • Acts as restaurant liaison, sharing relevant news concerning restaurant to other department managers
Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • 4-year degree preferred
  • Proven track record achieving business results across multiple businesses
  • History of leading, motivating, and coaching teams to achieve objectives
  • Advanced financial acumen and analytical skills, including restaurant profit and loss analysis experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to effectively and tactfully advise, counsel, coach, resolve conflict, and negotiate within all levels of an organization
  • "Win together" mentality
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office Product Suite, advanced proficiency preferred
  • Role requires standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying 35 pounds
  • Associates must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays
