Job description

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Strategic Planning Director that will work with executive leadership to develop and execute Nike's global long-term strategy, identify and evaluate strategic priorities, and to catalyze action against these priorities through strategic and business planning processes.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
As our Marketing Strategy Director, you will be responsible for creating the future of Nike brand through our worldwide Marketing function and driving the worldwide Brand Marketing strategic offense.
You will independently lead cross-functional teams and be aligned to the critical work in both areas:
- Creating the Future: This role is responsible for driving the future vision of the brand & marketing function, in partnership with the CMO, EVP of Sports Marketing, VP of Strategy & the Worldwide Marketing Leadership Team, through the development of our Nike Brand Plan, our 3-year rolling functional strategy. This role is also responsible for leading critical strategy initiatives that accelerate the effectiveness of the Marketing and Sports Marketing function at Nike.
- Driving the Offense: This role takes the lead for Marketing in critical enterprise business processes like Quarterly & Monthly Business Reviews and annual/ongoing investment planning, ensuring clarity in our marketing direction, clear decisions that enable our priorities to be resourced & implemented, and measurement of our brand performance that fuels continuous learning and improvement.
You will also play an important role as a "chief of staff" with our Chief Marketing Officer and the Global Marketing leadership team.

Profile

WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's Degree
- 8+ years of relevant experience in corporate development, corporate strategy, marketing strategy, strategy consulting, business development, investment banking or a related field.
- Or 6+ years of experience (2+ years' experience post-MBA) is required with an MBA/Master's degree.
- Or 10+ years total, relevant experience is required in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in leading complex strategic projects and demonstrated success in leading a methodical process of analyzing problems, gathering information, generating options, then proposing and acting on a course of action.
- Proven track record to pull together diverse individuals with different goals and facilitate productive discussions.
- Mastery of business communication tools and verbal/written communication to promote conceptual understanding and mobilize change through storytelling.
Preferred requirements
- Experience with Marketing-related functions, ideally with a youth-oriented brand or industry.
- Strong ability to partner and integrate with Finance, Data/Analytics & Consumer Insights.
- Experience supporting senior/executive leaders.
- Proven ability to directly lead cross-functional teams & projects.
