The Supply & Demand Planning Manager (store) contributes by optimally serving regional demand and enabling profitable sales growth across markets and channels by driving and providing input to regional store buying process. The role will provide top-down input to regional demand planning, based on a supply perspective. The role will run rolling follow ups of stock level forecast and buying with all stake holders (in region and in business units). The S&D Planning Manager is way of working responsible for buying methods in region and bringing regional findings to the global supply chain agenda. The role will set stock management strategies, e.g. SALE and rolling stock management actions, in line with buying strategies together with Merchandising managers.
This position is based in New York, NY within our Merchandising function, and reports to our Regional Head of Supply and Demand.
Core Responsibilities includes but is not limited to:
Drive Regional Store Buying Process
Set Store part of OMNI buying strategy for the region together with Merchandising managers, business units, Sales Markets, and other parts of regional Supply & Demand team
Develop top-down view on regional demand plan from a supply perspective, ensuring defined selling (net+gross), stock and reduction cost targets in alignment with regional commercial strategy, financial plan, business unit direction, and capital tied up targets
Run analyses of customer group/concept growth potential to identify regional opportunities and recommend regional strategy in collaboration with Merchandising managers
Secure commercial content together with Merchandise managers
Provide rolling update on forecast and deviation from current plan of region/market demand and inventory levels to proactively identify needed actions (short, mid, and long term) on buying, bulk sourcing, and stock management
Communicate updated forecasts with Merchandise managers, business units, and Inventory Optimization Managers
If additional buying methods and roles are applicable in region (%-market, Market Opt), responsible for defining ways of working and syncing with these
OMNI sync and strategy development with E-Commerce counterpart
Stock Management and SALE
Set up stock management strategies to reach inventory targets while maximizing sales and profit
Develop regional exit strategies and take actions for unwanted inventory to maximize selling and profitability
Support Merchandise managers with business case and technical analysis (e.g. sales at different price points) to enable best possible commercial decisions on detail and total
Rolling collaboration with Inventory Optimization Managers and Merchandise managers to understand current challenges and stock management needs
Forecast, budget, and follow up of reduction costs with Head of Demand & Supply
Drive OMNI Strategy Development, and Drive and Roll Out Supply Chain Initiatives
Bring regional findings to global supply chain agenda and roll out new ways of working for development initiatives in region
Together with E-Commerce counterpart, accountable for OMNI strategies and targets and driving total OMNI strategy development
Constantly explore and implement how to improve the field of buying and stock management in region - bring successful examples to the global supply chain support team
Be a part of developing the global supply chain agenda and initiatives as a business expert
Roll out way of working of new initiatives in region, in collaboration with global support team
Additional Accountabilities:
Financial responsibility of $3M USD
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, Economics/Finance, or similar field
5+ years of work experience, preferably in a retail, planning, or similar role
Deep understanding of retail, planning and stock management strategies
Broad understanding of logistics, allocation, store operations, and online sales
Strong analytical skills
High level of salesmanship
Advanced Excel user
Programming skills a plus
Structured way of working
Collaborative personality and good communication skills
