The SVP, Group Merchandise Manager (GMM) role is accountable for driving profitable growth. A visionary leader who will build a world-class organization and harness the power of the brick and mortar stores and .com presence. This individual will have a proven track record in building a strategy, communicating a compelling vision, and executing a well thought-out plan, while leading and engaging a high performing team.The SVP, GMM will build and lead a high performance organization focused on sales, product offering and customer experience, develop and lead company-wide initiatives and projects, and strategize with other shared services in the organization to facilitate continued growth and success.

� You act with the customer in mind and are passionate about enhancing the customer experience� You lead for results by setting a clear vision, driving positive outcomes through objectives, and holding teams accountable for deliverables� You inspire other with your vision and sense of purpose; you are optimistic, positive and can rally teams and entire functions behind a vision� You build morale and a positive environment for your team by encouraging open dialogue, empowering team members, celebrating successes and providing constructive feedback� You offer a unique perspective, and can generate different ideas and ways of doings things, including looking for ways to improve� You are an expert communicator with strong influencing skills, with the special ability to build strong business relationships beyond your immediate team by listening, building trust and collaborating� You lead by example, and can easily maintain your composure under pressure� Your strong business acumen, coupled with your effective communication skills, help you quickly build credibility, buy-in, and trust� You have a proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, delegate, and organize work well� You are comfortable navigating change and challenging convention and you see change as an opportunity to improveYou Also Have:Required Skills: � Must have 10+ years of overall Buying/Merchandising retail/fashion industry experience, with extensive experience in a management role� Must have minimum of 10+ years of omni-channel management experience, overseeing both the creative and financial aspects of merchandising� Experience as a senior level Merchandise Manager in multiple product lines is essential� Experience as a senior level Merchandise Manager in a large scale format across Canada and the United States� Demonstrated leadership skills required� Experience overseeing a team of 20+ employeesRequired Education:� Minimum of Bachelor�s Degree in Marketing or a related field. As the SVP, GMM You Will:� Set merchandising vision and strategy for the Apparel division to meet financial targets, including revenue, margin and inventory metrics� Establish and consistently communicate merchandising objectives in support of HBC strategy and business objectives� Partner with Chief Merchant to ensure strategic direction for division is in line with company� Develop and execute an omni-channel strategy that will enhance customers� shopping experience� Develop innovative new business and sales driving ideas� Partner with Merchandise Planning to profitably execute financial targets as well as review and direct financial plans� Lead Merchandising team in executing in-season strategies and adjusts plans as business requires� Actively monitor and adjust to market, trends and competition� Lead key brand meetings and drive strategic conversations related to the business objectives� Define organizational structure and actively retain/recruit talent� Develop direct reports and team members� Represent division on cross-functional and cross-company initiatives� Present divisional results and strategies at executive sessions� Additional responsibilities as required
