Job description
POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is based in Roanoke, VA and reports to the Sr. Mgr Domestic Transportation. The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for supporting Revlon freight operations. The Transportation Coordinator works collaboratively, cross-functionally, internally and externally, to ensure that our inbound freight is picked up from our suppliers and delivered to our various facilities. This individual will assist with achieving high levels of carrier on-time pickup and delivery performance so that Revlon meets or exceeds our delivery requirements while reducing transportation cost and/or OTIF fines. The Transportation Coordinator will also assist in reviewing freight delays and possible chargebacks to resolve issues at a root cause level. Will assist as needed with researching shortages and damages to file inbound freight claims.
To achieve this, the Transportation Coordinator collaborates with Planning Teams, Carriers, Receiving and Shipping personnel to understand shipment timing and develop a plan that best supports Distribution and Transportation objectives. The Transportation Coordinator applies their judgment, experience, knowledge of current market conditions, transit times, delivery requirements, shipping considerations and routing guide information to make mode and carrier selection decisions prior to load tendering.
This role will have back-up responsibilities to Team Members in Roanoke including but not limited to reporting, outbound processes, & OS&D research. This Team Member will need to understand all freight modes, carrier processes, and Transportation.

MAJOR DUTIES
- Support various teams internally and externally to ensure on time pickup and delivery of freight.
- Route freight of all modes from suppliers to Revlon facilities
- Proactively address transportation delays and recover freight as needed.
- Work with various systems including SAP and JDE to create and manage inbound deliveries and shipments
- Assisting with reporting needs including gathering data and keying data to maintain or append current reports.
- Back-up to the Team Member supporting both Inbound and Outbound operations as needed.
- Create Bills of Lading (BOL) and provide needed shipping documentation.
- Uses computer software such as MS EXCEL to generate requested reports.
- All other duties as assigned.
- 1-3 years of transportation industry experience or experience in a similar role preferred
- General understanding of LTL, Parcel and TL modes of transportation
- Ability to learn different computer systems quickly
- Intermediate experience using MS Office (Outlook and EXCEL)

- High School Diploma Required
