Job description

The Transportation Manager will work with and provide logistics support for the Fulfillment Center as well as Vendors, Buyers, Carriers, Corporate counterparts. They must drive key performance indicators for cost savings, and maintain efficient utilization of department team members through proper coaching and training to provide the highest levels of customer service
A day in the life...
- Understand and support accurate billing, freight payment, PO Office, and charge-back processes
- Support strategic planning of all inbound/outbound carrier movement including domestic and international order fulfillment
- Support multi-channel efforts to include Drop Ship, Full Line Stores, and Regional Delivery Rooms
- Meet financial objectives by supporting forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
- Participate in negotiating and auditing of freight rates and carrier contracts
- Support, schedule, and supervise Yard Truck drivers and Yard Truck program to include CDL acquisition, training, and communication of safety or policy changes


- 2+ years of Leadership experience
- Accounting, planning, analytical, project management, and/or reporting experience
- Communication expert (both written and verbal) with the ability to effectively communicate and present information and respond to questions from groups of Managers, Vendors, employees, and Corporate Leaders
- Previous Hazardous Material training is a plus
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with a strong emphasis on Excel
- Supply Chain Operational knowledge or equivalent Transportation knowledge (preferred)
