The Transportation Manager's primary responsibilities are to manage the flow of merchandise from the vendor through our supply chain to final delivery to our customer. The Outbound Transportation Manager will lead our Transportation Team in forecasting and evaluating current outbound trailer volumes, working with the team to optimize the shipping route set up and minimize manual reroutes. As part of the Transportation Team, the Manager will be the main point of contact working with carriers, pool agents, stores and corporate divisions to ensure on time deliveries to our stores. In this role, there will be opportunities to collaborate across our Supply Chain encompassing the coordination and integration of best practices within and among companies. The Transportation Manager will provide on-going analysis of processes, procedures, financial and cost data, and operational elements related to the company's supply chain. In addition, make strategic and tactical recommendations, based on the analyses, to enhance the flow of merchandise and information as well as identify cost saving opportunities. The position will also be responsible for preparing feasibility studies and assisting with the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and/or special projects. This position will review and recommend initiatives designed to improve the supply chain processes comprising of carriers, consolidators, pool distributors, logistic operations, including cross dock service providers, and small package carriers.
- Transportation contact person for transportation operations (Carriers, Pool Agents, UPS, & other FL Facilities).
- Responsible for the planning and execution of product flows within the U.S. Supply Chain.
- Partner with key business partners to develop daily/weekly Outbound Pick & Trailer forecasts.
- Develop strong partnerships with Logistics and Distribution Center Senior Management to develop and implement best practices to maximize efficiencies throughout the supply chain.
- Develop strong partnerships with external vendors to optimize the supply chain operations.
- Prepare feasibility studies and assist in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, particularly as they pertain to transportation.
- Establish and maintain regular communications with internal customers to identify business requirements.
- Communicate & partner with existing and potential service providers to establish and maintain corporate level relationships.
- Investigate and develop system resources to improve productivity and information flow, optimize freight movement, and reduce transportation costs.
- Use best practice techniques with industry peers to identify best practice opportunities.
- Develop and present training material as needed to foster better cross-functional cooperation and understanding.
- Develop, council and coach all associates within the department.


- Experience with companies recognized for their Transportation & Supply Chain leadership.
- Bachelor's degree required and a minimum of 5 years transportation experience.
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain, Logistics and Distribution Center operations, technologies and systems.
- CSCMP or similar logistics affiliation preferred.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Expert knowledge in a Microsoft Windows environment, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Supply Chain, Logistics and Distribution Center Operations and systems.
- Financial and Business Acumen: Must possess strong financial acumen with strong knowledge of financial measurements and how to impact them. Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results.
