JOB TITLE: Vice President, Chief Product & Merchandising Officer (Global Dickies)
Job Summary: The Chief Product and Merchandising Officer (CPMO) will lead Dickies global product strategy and roadmap delivering against growth objectives across the merchandising, product, and design organizations. This forward-thinking product leader will be responsible for developing a robust strategic vision for the future built on modern merchandising and design principles with a clear brand architecture and aesthetic. This leader will also focus on delivering against annual objectives prioritizing year over year growth strategies. This position sets the global product line plan vision and leads the global line planning function to achieve or exceed annual targets. They must balance both leading global vision and strategy while meeting in region needs. The CPMO is responsible for keeping pace with the consumer-driven and digitally driven retail environment by using consumer insights and shopping patterns to influence their seasonal product assortments. This leader will sit on the Dickies executive leadership team and work extensively with cross-functional partners from Brand Marketing, Regional leadership, Supply Chain, Finance, and Digital Technology.
As a leader in the organization, this individual will play a key role in driving the company culture through a consumer first mind-set, fostering cross-functional team collaboration, developing Global Merchandising, Product Management and Design talent, and supporting the continuous evolution of business processes to maximize resources.
How You Will Make a Difference:
Build multi-year strategic plans tied to Dickies financial plans, to guide the evolution and growth of the brand across all regions (Americas, EMEA and APAC). Lead design and product teams for all merchandising categories. Ensure assortments are trend relevant, must-have merchandise for our target consumer with high sell-through to meet our commercial goals. Possess and foster a deep understanding of our consumer to develop a thoughtful and informed perspective of product and market opportunities, including marketplace segmentation, competition, and differentiation. Encourage the utilization of data and analytics as well as creative methods to continuously develop an understanding of the current and future consumer; apply that consumer insight to the evolution of the brand and concepts. Co-lead the Regional Merchandising leaders along with Regional General Managers to gain direct input on regional needs and ensure global product and merchandising strategies are executed and localization is executed inside brand guardrails. Anticipate future consumer trends and use market developments to identify and develop product categories that resonate with our customer and understand the go-to-market business levers to utilize to drive customer satisfaction, incremental sales, margin and overall growth across consumer touchpoints and channels. Analyze and utilize consumer data to guide merchandising and pricing strategies as well as decision making across all channels of business. Collaborate with the cross-functional leadership team to drive the company's strategic objectives and achieve organizational metrics. Work closely with regional general managers, marketing, digital and planning teams to ensure the product and merchandising engines are prepared for continued scaled growth. Lead the global design teams for Dickies Work and Lifestyle apparel, sourcing/production and planning teams in concepting and developing commercially strong products within our targeted cost and margin plans. Partner with global marketing, digital and e-commerce teams in the development of innovative omnichannel campaign strategies that drive traffic, conversion, and sales across all channels. Lead ongoing assessment of the product category mix by identifying opportunities and downward trends as well as developing merchandising initiatives for future seasons. Assess organizational structure to determine opportunities to strengthen product lifecycle processes and feedback loops on product. Set clear and ambitious product goals while committing the team to improved performance and a focus on driving results. Will empower the team to think outside of the box and be a strong developer of others. Build a high performing team through open and transparent communication, ongoing mentoring and development, and effective performance management.
Skills for Success:
Years of related professional experience: Must have 15+ years of global product management and merchandising in the apparel Industry.
