Job description

Brand Creative is an integral part of Kiehl's Global Creative Team. We lead all aspects of Kiehl's product launches and marketing to ensure impeccable development and implementation of best-in-class communications.
As VP - Global Brand Creative, you will be leading the team responsible for crafting innovative, compelling design solutions, and executing multiple design studies for product launch concepts, packaging, in-store graphics, holiday programs, printed collateral, ecomm, social and more. This requires broad experience in developing creative solutions in a variety of mediums. You will collaborate with all creative tribes within the larger team: Project management, Digital / Social, Copy / Brand Voice, Store Design, and Merchandising.
You'll be joining a team where we conceive, design, and lead the development of high-quality creative work that pays homage to our Apothecary heritage but keeps the brand modern and relevant with a healthy dose of Kiehl's quirkiness!
The VP of Global Brand Creative
is a strategic leadership role that requires the ability to perform the functions of the Creative Director at an experienced level while also elevating the Brand Creative team by demonstrating a high level of inspiration, direction, creativity, and leadership. As a member of the Creative leadership team, you will work to establish strategies that deliver holistic elevated creative solutions for Kiehl's as an authentic skincare brand, established in 1851. We are looking for a creative leader with a collaborative approach and entrepreneurial attitude who takes initiative, is skilled leading a team, and strives to develop and cultivate growth for their team. The work will be ambitious, never boring, and will be an integral part of bringing product launches and repushes to life in the global market communities we serve.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON:
Your deep knowledge of skincare consumers informs your ability to help your team translate marketing briefs into stunning and effective product launch packaging, collateral, and key visuals. You will work closely with your team members in bringing this vision to life, and in turn help other creative tribes effectively translate this direction into powerful social, digital, and in-store activations. You will lead and mentor multiple direct reports and be responsible for encouraging, recognizing, and rewarding team members. Building cross-functional relationships across the company is important to gaining understanding of what other teams' roles & responsibilities are. In addition, you will lead and give clear creative direction, assisting the team to deliver effective design solutions and drive Operational and Creative excellence: ensuring delivery of high-quality work on time and on budget. In a typical week you will have a meeting with the SVP of Global Creative to align on priorities. You will also have weekly meetings with your direct reports and with the marketing team and the GM of Kiehl's DMI to review and sell in new creative concepts. Other weekly meetings include Digital creative to align on how brand creative's vision will come to life in ecom and social media, among others

Profile

- Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or design-related equivalent
- 10+ years proven experience as a design leader, as a Creative Director or reporting into a Creative Director for a large brand or agency experience
- Excellent Adobe Suite skills
- Creative, bold, and digitally savvy
- Excellent sense of style and taste + keen eye for typography
- A self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, organized, detail oriented, collaborative, and flexible
- 5+ years management experience of teams with 4+ people
- Able to lead diverse, highly performing teams with multiple and competing work priorities, demands and changes
- Deep connection to skincare / beauty and pop culture trends
