What You'll Do:
The Vice President, Global Planning Systems role will be accountable for the overall application and infrastructure architecture across our global planning platform. You will also collaborate cross functionally with the North America Michael Kors Executives and IT leadership to develop the vision, strategy, and direction for developing and implementing initiatives in a complex retail environment with growing digital operations and traditional stores.

Provide strategic and operational planning related planning & allocation systems to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future initiatives and systems across the organization to enhance employee productivity and operational efficiency.
Understanding the changing consumer trends / change in Retail and defining how technology can best support in service of these changing dynamics (online and in stores)
Work with members of senior management and key strategic business teams to understand business requirements and identify functionality gaps with the planning & allocation systems.
Leverage the advantages of technology to transform the planning experience and ensure smart usage of the most promising technologies
Lead the selection, development, management, and oversight of contracts and service level agreements for planning systems services and applications. Maintain vendor relationships and ensure that contracts properly support the company.
Ability to take ownership of problems and drive entire resolution/communication process from beginning to end.
Ensure the company's internal technological processes and customer-facing services comply with community expectations and applicable laws and regulations for privacy, security, and social responsibility.
Define functional and technical standards along with best practices in the application development, system management, change reviews, code reviews and business system risk analysis.
Shape the vision and roadmap of planning systems associated to the business functional areas (supply chain, planning, wholesale, retail, etc.) Responsible for business partner relationship, including communication and alignment on system operations and project delivery

You'll Need to Have:

Bachelor's degree in a business-related area or information systems or equivalent working experience.
Retail industry experience is required with an emphasis on planning
Experience with merchandising systems, including at least 2-3 of the following: assortment planning/optimization, pricing and promotion/advertising management, product master management/data exchanges, forecasting & planning, planogram/space management, buying and inventory management, allocation, supply chain portals
Ability to apply best practices to the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for projects based on experiences with iterative/agile and blended approaches, effectively coordinates implementations with cross functional teams. Experience with modern development practices and technologies to drive reuse, scalability, seamless process/system integration and long-term supportability
Systems design and development process, including requirements analysis, feasibility studies, software design, programming, pilot testing, installation, evaluation, and operational management
Business process analysis, redesign, and optimization in an environment with both retail and wholesale operations.
Proven skills in: Negotiating with vendors, contractors, and others; budget preparation and monitoring; planning and organizing
Management and leadership of teams of project managers, programmers and support specialists.
Strong strategic ability - can create, develop and lead strategy aligning with senior execs to drive and influence implementation.
Ability to travel between the NJ and NY corporate offices multiple times a week.

Ability to conceptualize and to translate tech speak into universal language that impacts across the business.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, "self-starter" environment
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Team-player with excellent relationship-building
