Position Description
The VP Operations will be responsible for all Divisional operational functions and for driving strategic initiatives. He/She will serve as a strategic and key business partner to the President of the Division and the COO. The major focus for this role will be analyzing existing business operations and determining opportunities for process improvement, efficiencies, and centralizing certain functions.
The VP, Operations will support the growth objectives of the Division both organically and through mergers and acquisitions, ensuring a robust operational platform.
Overall Responsibilities
- Drive innovation through people, process and technology; maximize the Supply Chain functions.
- Develop and maintain a robust set of departmental dashboards and KPI's to monitor and measure performance.
- Implement best practices for SO/PO process across the Kids Complex.
- Partner with Supply Chain Operations and Distribution leaders to increase customer service, streamline order execution processes and establish distribution processes to best support the businesses.
- Develop and execute a strategic plan that leverages the scale/infrastructure of Centric, maximizes divisional opportunities, grows revenue and profit and minimizes expenses
- Deliver business results by working cross-functionally with brand operations executives and back office shared services.
- Establish processes to support change and focus on continuous and sustainable improvement.
- Partner with Corporate to develop international distribution platform.
- Collaborate with the business to ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met within company and global guidelines as well as import/export requirements.
- Partner with DC Operations team to identify best network strategy, SOP's, improve VAS operations, optimize DC Bypass opportunities and minimize costs.
- Work with planning and production to provide unit receipt, shipment and inventory forecasts by warehouse.
- Work with operations/finance team to review operational chargebacks to help negotiate with retailers and implement corrective actions.
- Evaluate back end operations. Develop and execute a strategy to run more efficiently. Utilize the standard platforms.
- Partner with Sourcing to develop cohesive processes and procedures that supports the business strategy.
- Integrate new businesses.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure revenue and budget objectives are met, expanded on, and actively follow through on them.
- Provide leadership: supports, motivates, directs and retains high-caliber staff.
- Establish and manage business metrics in ERP system; ensure data integrity and appropriate system maintenance, including upgrades and new integrations
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external customers; assist as needed with problem solving and customer relationship management
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure revenue and budget objectives are met, expanded on, and actively follow through on them.

Profile

- 15+ years of operations experience. Wholesale experience is a must. Retail experience is a plus. International experience will also be a plus.
- A strong operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Someone who can be both strategic and tactical as the business dictates.
- Have experience a senior level or head of operations with a proven track record leading and directing a sizeable wholesale apparel import manufacturing business to profitability and delivering promised results.
- Flexible and adaptable. Amenable to looking at existing processes/standardizations and future solutions in different ways. Will not be rigid in approach.
- Innovative in approach. Bring new ideas and different ways of addressing the business needs. A demonstrated ability to drive organizational change, identify opportunities and effectively implement new ideas.
- A strategic thinker who produces short-term results in concert with long-term business objectives. The ability to quickly identify and prioritize goals and objectives for the organization and ensure they are executed as planned.
- A demonstrated track record of successfully achieving and exceeding cost, accuracy and service goals.
- A flexible hands-on team player who strategically partners with all levels to successfully execute change in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong leadership skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate a vision and then inspire and motivate others into action. A polished and professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- A demonstrated track record of successfully building and aligning teams and leading large scale projects.
- Able to develop, coach, motivate and inspire a team that embraces accountability and achieves results.
- Highly self-motivated and action orientated, with a strong professional presentation.
- Credible, self-confident, collaborative and able to build relationships across all brands and throughout all levels of the organization.
- Superior organizational skills, attention to detail and consistent follow- through and strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- An understanding of the complete supply chain process.
- Work well in a matrixed, shared service organization.
- A high degree of integrity.
- A skilled listener by nature who respects other's viewpoints but is not hesitant to express his or her own while building consensus through the decision-making process.
- A college degree.
