Warehouse Supervisor, Asr- 2nd Shift

Job description

This position is required to lead a shift of non-exempt employees through the daily operations and processes found in a manufacturing environment, with specific focus on warehouse and shipping/receiving operations. Main deliverables include safety, quality and schedule execution.
Supervisor is accountable for leading, training, coaching, and motivating a team to improve safety and quality, reduce cost, and deliver the highest level of customer service.
Department Operational Goals (50%):
Receiving: Ensure 100% of the receiving schedule is executed on a daily basis.
- Allocate team resources to receive trucks, enter the information in the system and send loads to the proper WH.
- Support team on addressing issues throughout the shift, being the interface with other departments in the facility and externally.
- Address emergency requests and schedule changes driven by business needs.
- Call out quality issues in the receiving process and work with QA and external vendors to address them. Ensure charge backs are being executed. Shipping: Ensure shipment are executed correctly and sent to the proper destination on time.
- Allocate team resources to shipping activities.
- Support team on addressing issues throughout the shift, being the interface with other departments in the facility and externally.
- Address emergency requests and schedule changes driven by business needs.
- Monitor and execute Open Delivery reports and Outstanding Orders reports, keeping them under control. Warehouse: Ensure inventory is properly stored, recorded and accounted for.
- Manage inventory going in and out of the warehouse - labeling, accuracy, etc. Ensure each skid is going to the proper WH between Melville and ASR.
- Ensure proper storage conditions and restrictions are being followed.
- Support control of inventory capacity.
- Be one of the go-to-people for inventory issues, support investigations and adjustments.
- Support internal and external audits requests. Other Duties as Assigned: Provide departmental support of cross-functional goals and objectives. Provide support across the department as needed to achieve operational excellence.
- Support zero (0) TIR goal for the site; be an active member of BBS team and support safety initiatives in the department.
- Be part of the team processing QN's and DAV's.
- Be part of the team handling inventory management (cycle counts, adjustments, audits, etc.)
- Create, review, and train on SOP's and WKI's. Capable of starting, executing, and closing quality deviations (including any necessary CAPA's.
- Individual may be asked to learn other areas of the material supply operations such as scheduling, Pre-Weigh, etc. People Management Goals (50%):
- Develop talent to full potential through training, consistent feedback and coaching.
- Evaluating performance of employees, make recommendations for improvements, and utilize the corrective action process.
- Facilitate team meetings and forums to share information.
- Evaluate and make calls on Overtime and Temp Labor usage for the department as needed. Develop and manage vacation schedule for the team.


- Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.
- Dynamic and analytical approach to problem solving and identification, solution and efficiency improvements.
- Must demonstrate a desire and ability to lead other people.
- May be required to handle containers of hazardous waste.
- Candidate must be able to work on any of the three shifts (day/evening/night).
- Work additional shifts beyond the regular work week (weekend overtime, holiday overtime and "double shifts") as required to support the needs of the business.
- Knowledge of MS Office required.
- SAP, WMS and ELEMCO applications knowledge preferred.
- Required to have and maintain a good attendance record. May require to drive PIT equipment.
Bachelor's Degree required.
Management, Industrial Engineering and Mfg. Engineering degree preferred. Warehouse/Transportation experience preferred.
1-3 years preferred in Supply Chain / Manufacturing / Warehouse and Distribution
DOT - training preferred.
Dangerous Goods Transportation training preferred.
PIT certification preferred
