Job description

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
The WCS Business Consultant is responsible for successfully leading the technical delivery of all Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) solutions within the Adidas DTC East Distribution Center where automated Material Handling Equipment (MHE) is utilized. The incumbent will direct WCS/MHE and RFID vendors to ensure/verify that all solutions and components are delivered according to the approved functional specifications.
Key Relationships:
- This position will work directly with WCS/MHE and RFID vendors
- Works with all levels of business users as well as all Global IT functional groups
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in all phases of DTC East Distribution Center project and support to ensure that WCS and RFID solutions meet all business requirements outlined in the Functional Specifications
- Manage MHE vendors in support of the WCS environments and ensure proper system functionality and SLA adherence per vendor contracts
- Lead all WCS and RFID related Unit, Integration and Regression test phases for any new projects or changes maintaining proper documentation for each test phase
- Lead functional and technical change discussions as well as requirements gathering for new WCS and RFID system functionalities
- Provide on-going support to all the regional facilities where MHE/WCS are utilized
- May assist in delivery of WCS and/or RFID related enhancements/changes to existing and future facilities
- May provide MHE/WCS/RFID troubleshooting expertise for all existing facilities where these solutions are utilized
- Effectively communicate service request status and actions taken towards problem resolution to a diverse audience of differing levels of technical competence
- Lead problem and incident management processes in the resolution of IT issues with WCS and RFID support providers and partners following ITIL standards
- Demonstrate industry leading knowledge and capability on current product offerings and their operating platforms as it relates to WCS, MHE and RFID solutions
- Responsible for continuous operation of regional DCs according to published Global SLAs
- Perform other duties as assigned


- Knowledge of current WCS/MHE applications/infrastructures and how they integrate with other business segments
- Knowledge and/or experience in the implementation of RFID solutions within a distribution center where automated MHE/WCS systems exist
- Ability to clearly communicate across all levels of the business
- 4 - 6 years experience with WCS/MHE and other related technologies
- Ability to challenge and propose alternative solutions
- Ability to examine issues both strategically and analytically
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse operations
- Some travel, including International, required
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:
- regularly required to talk or hear; stand, sit or walk; use fingers, hands and arms to feel, handle, grip, grasp, lift, push and pull for up to ten (10) hours/day
- able to work in a non-climate controlled warehouse environment
- able to reliably attend work/scheduled hours
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
